Complete configurability

Floor for Windows rev 4.0 supports an unlimited number of agents and up to 24 time slots per day. As you add agents to the list, you may choose to supply an optional email address so that the finished schedule can be emailed directly to the agent. Shift configuration and agent settings are preserved from month to month, and can be easily copied to other licensed computers.

Holidays, vacations, and shift restrictions

The program supports several types of constraints that can be used to affect the finished schedule. Vacation days prevent individual agents from receiving floor time on the specified days, and holidays can be used to prevent all agents from receiving floor time. Alternatively, shift restrictions can be set for individual agents, preventing them from receiving certain shifts during the week, such as weekend evenings, or Thursdays before noon.

Multiple scheduling engines

Floor for Windows rev 4.0 has the capacity to generate schedules using four different engines, or distribution algorithms. Each engine is useful for a particular type of schedule, but the default engine, SmartRandom, is usually the most equitable. SmartRandom attempts to diversify each agent’s shift distribution with regard to the day of the week, the position in the day, and the number of weekend shifts, resulting in the fairest schedule possible.

Multiple printout formats

Three distinct printout formats are provided in Floor for Windows rev 4.0. The Full Calendar printout generates a standard single-page monthly display of all agent shifts. The Office Grid printout illustrates shift assignment using a tabular format. Finally, the Tearsheet printout lists all assigned shifts, grouped by agent name, and can be cut into strips and attached to the Full Calendar printout for each agent.

Multiple export options

Floor for Windows rev 4.0 supports multiple export formats for moving scheduling data into external applications. For example, each agent's floor time can be emailed directly to him or her after the schedule has been generated. Or, if the office uses Microsoft Outlook, the schedule can be exported directly into the Outlook Calendar, with each shift represented by an Outlook appointment. Floor for Windows rev 4.0 can also export scheduling data into Calendar Creator format.
